The tables, knickknacks etc were clean, but the lampshades, ceiling fans, lights, chandeliers, tops of pictures frames, cloth furniture, hangers were covered in dust (See pictures). Tearing up ceramic tile generates a great deal of dust. It appears that there was ceramic tile removed and replaced with LVT. Not a huge deal, but it tells me housekeeping does not completely clean the refrigerator/ freezer. I presume that the unit lost power during hurricane Ian causing the ice in the tray to completely melt and then refreeze when the power came back on, forming a solid block of ice. There was a solid slab of ice in the ice maker. There was a little bit of mold in the corner of the master bathroom shower. The kitchen was very clean and the bathrooms mostly clean. When the Teflon is peeling, it’s time to replace it. However, the pots and pans need replaced. There were plenty of plates, glasses, cups and silverware. I didn’t even know that RCA made ovens and I haven’t seen an Amada Radar Range microwave since the 1980s. The unit just installed LVT flooring which is nice, the kitchen was updated with quartz countertops and new cabinets. The unit itself is semi updated and mostly clean. The common areas of the resort are up to date and clean. You can't match those figures in Sarasota in the winter or in Chicago in the summer. In the summer, we know the air temperature and the water temperature always will be the same, 92 degrees. Because winter in Florida is unpredictable. Friends often ask why we vacation in Sarasota from mid-June to mid-July rather than in the popular winter months from December to March.
